FAT TRANSFER TO THE FACE
NEW FACE NEW LIFE
What is Fat Transfer to the Face?
Fat Transfer to the Face is often known as Fat Grafting, and it is a natural, minimally invasive procedure that consists in injecting fat to the face that has been previously removed from an area of the body where it is plentiful. This treatment is performed to restore lost volume and get rid of wrinkles.
This procedure is an alternative to other types of fillers, and it is ideal for patients that wish for a natural option and have no interest in synthetic fillers.
Who is the Ideal Patient?
The ideal patient for this treatment is over 40 years old that, due to the passage of time, has lost skin volume, resulting in a wrinkled and flabby appearance.
How is it performed?
In order to get the fat that’s going to be used for the treatment, it must first be removed from what’s typically known as a “donor area” with a minor liposuction procedure. This area usually is the abdomen.
Afterwards, the fat is processed to be suited as a natural injected filler, and is then injected in the needed areas of the face.
This is a very simple procedure that lasts around 1 hour and you must be on observation for approximately 4 hours.
Recovery Process
Recovery lasts around 4 days, and you’ll start seeing final results between 5 and 7 days after the procedure, once your face has completely recovered. No special care is required and the patient may resume his or her normal activities after the procedure. Additional care may be required depending on the scope of the liposuction. Usually, it’s not necessary to perform this procedure again, but it may vary from patient to patient.
