NEW BODY NEW LIFE
What is Hand Rejuvenation?
Fat Transfer to the hands, or Hand Rejuvenation, is one of the most effective treatments to get rid of the most common signs of age, such as noticeable veins and flabbiness.
This procedure consists in injecting fat to the hands that has been previously removed from an area of the body where it is plentiful. This treatment is performed to restore lost volume and give the patient’s hands a youthful appearance.
Who is the Ideal Patient?
The ideal patient is 35 years or older and presents noticeable veins, noticeable tendons and flabbiness, which give an appearance of old and bony hands.
How is it performed?
In order to get the fat that’s going to be used for the treatment, it must first be removed from what’s typically known as a “donor area” with a minor liposuction procedure. This area usually is the abdomen.
Afterwards, the fat is processed to be suited as a natural injected filler, and is then injected in the needed areas of both hands.
This is a very simple procedure that lasts around 1 hour and you must be on observation for approximately 4 hours.
Recovery lasts around 4 days, and you’ll start seeing final results between 5 and 7 days after the procedure, once your hands have completely recovered. Since hands have a high chance of keeping filth or bacteria, thorough hygiene after the surgery is mandatory. The use of gloves is ideal during the first 7 days after the procedure. The patient may resume his or her normal activities after this treatment. Usually, it’s not necessary to perform this procedure again since results are very natural yet noticeable, but it may vary from patient to patient.
