GYNECOMASTIA
NEW FACE NEW LIFE
What is a Gynecomastia Surgery?
The Gynecomastia Surgery, also known as Male Breast Reduction, consists in reducing the breast size in men, flattening and enhancing the chest contours. This surgery corrects overdeveloped or enlarged breasts in men.
It’s important to recall, Gynecomastia is the condition of overdeveloped or enlarged breasts in men that can occur at any age. This condition can be the result of hormonal changes, obesity or the use of certain drugs. In other cases, it’s simply a hereditary issue.
Who is the Ideal Patient?
Men whose condition of overdeveloped breasts that cannot be corrected through alternative medical treatments are ideal for this procedure.
If the patient has one breast bigger than the other, the Gynecomastia Surgery is ideal to solve this problem too.
The ideal patient has a healthy lifestyle and relatively normal weight.
Although adolescents may also be good candidates for this procedure, a secondary surgery may be needed if in the future the breast development continue.
How is it performed?
This cosmetic surgery consists in reconstructing the sagging breasts upon the chest of the patient, by changing and modifying its size, contour, and elevation.
This is an outpatient surgery (also known as ambulatory surgery), which means you can go home the same day of the procedure.
The surgery lasts around 1 hour and you must be on observation for approximately 4 hours.
Recovery Process
Recovery is around 2 weeks long, and you’ll start seeing final results between 3 weeks and 1 month after the procedure, once your body has completely recovered, but you will begin to see results around the 7th day after the surgery. You must attend to a check-up consultation 7 days after the procedure.
In order to obtain the expected results, the use of special garment is mandatory during the first 2 months.
Ideally it should be accompanied by ultrasound treatment, similar to the post-surgical massage, which is also performed in our facilities.
